The International Centre for Advanced Mediterranean Agronomic Studies (CIHEAM) joined UNU-FLORES for a full-day visit aimed at deepening dialogue and exploring areas of cooperation. This meeting built upon earlier exchanges between CIHEAM Secretary-General, Teodoro Miano, and UNU-FLORES Director, Professor Edeltraud Guenther, in France, setting the stage for stronger collaboration.
Throughout the day, UNU-FLORES colleagues shared their approach to research, education and advocacy through the Resource Nexus lens, while the CIHEAM delegation provided valuable insights from their Mediterranean-focused expertise. The exchange especially highlighted collaboration in education, with interactive discussions and brainstorming sessions identifying promising areas where joint efforts could amplify impact.
Doctoral researchers at UNU-FLORES, Vaibhav from India, Ghada from Egypt, and Hela from Tunisia also contributed to the exchange by presenting their current research. Their insights not only highlighted the depth of doctoral work being carried out at the institute but also sparked meaningful dialogue with CIHEAM representatives.
