Rodrigo Lopez Barreda is a physician and a dual-career PhD fellow at UNU-MERIT and Maastricht University.
At the same time, he did a PhD in Biomedical Ethics and Law and began to be involved in medical missions and international cooperation. In order to have more tools to face global health issues, he did a master's in Public Health and decided to start another PhD at UNU-MERIT. His research topic is barriers to healthcare access in low- and middle-income countries, but he is also interested in transnational responsibilities regarding global health inequities.
