This master's programme is delivered by UNU-INWEH in collaboration with the University of Calgary at the UNU Hub on Empowering Communities to Adapt to Environmental Change.
The Master of Transdisciplinary Research (MTR) gives students the opportunity to pursue innovative research that builds on knowledge between, across and beyond traditional disciplines. Students can shape their degree individually with a supervisor, or pursue a specialisation such as Water Resilience, led by faculty associated with the UNU Hub. The cohort experience includes regular speaker series, workshops and networking opportunities with industry and non-academic communities.
The Hub's research is organised in four clusters led by world-class scholars: understanding changes in aquatic ecosystems, evaluating risks of infectious diseases in a changing climate, environmental predictions for water sustainability, and building resilience in Indigenous communities. Training opportunities extend to interdisciplinary graduate certificates, joint degree programmes, UN internships and international assignments abroad.
