A UNU Hub is a formal, long-term partnership between UNU-INWEH and a host university, bringing joint degree programmes, co-supervised research and UN-context coursework together in one place. Each Hub is anchored at a specific institution and typically supports several joint Master's and PhD programmes at once. Below are the Hubs currently active.
UNU Hub on R-SIRUS at the City College of New York

The UNU Hub on Remote Sensing and Sustainable Innovations for Resilient Urban Systems (R-SIRUS), hosted at CCNY's Grove School of Engineering, fosters cutting-edge research, innovative solutions, education and policy engagement to enable sustainable transformation of complex urban systems and densely populated areas of the world.
UNU Hub on WICE at Lund University

The WICE Hub addresses pressing global water problems and environmental security challenges of the Middle East through interdisciplinary research, innovation, education, policy co-creation, and South-North knowledge exchange, based at LTH, Lund University's Faculty of Engineering.
UNU Hub on Engineering to Face Climate Change at the Hamburg University of Technology

TUHH's Hub integrates research and technology, advanced education, and innovative outreach and partnerships to support adaptation to and mitigation of climate challenges through engineering solutions, including a DFG-funded doctoral research group on Climate Informed Engineering launched in 2025 with the Max Planck Institute for Meteorology.
UNU Hub on Empowering Communities to Adapt to Environmental Change at the University of Calgary

This Hub advances inclusive and impactful research, education, and global collaboration to develop knowledge, solutions, and skilled capacity for tackling complex climate, land, and water challenges, bridging the science-policy-society gap, with a Global Water Resilience specialisation spanning four research clusters.
UNU Hub on REACH-AFRICA at the University of Pretoria
