UNU–CCNY Master's in Sustainability in the Urban Environment

Urban

This master's programme is delivered by UNU-INWEH in collaboration with CCNY's Sustainability in the Urban Environment Graduate Programme at the UNU Hub on Remote Sensing and Sustainable Innovations for Resilient Urban Systems (R-SIRUS).
CCNY's interdisciplinary Sustainability in the Urban Environment Graduate Programme partners with UNU-INWEH to offer new and continuing graduate students the chance to focus their studies on mobilizing remote sensing technologies and geospatial data analysis toward implementation of the UN SDGs. Students work alongside UN experts to build globally relevant research skills, with hybrid and online delivery options.

About the R-SIRUS HUB

Launched in 2024 at CCNY's Grove School of Engineering, R-SIRUS (Remote Sensing and Sustainable Innovations for Resilient Urban Systems) is the first UNU Hub in the United States. It works across three pillars — Research and Development; Education, Training and Capacity Building; and Policy, Advocacy and Outreach — and its research spans three clusters: earth monitoring and remote sensing of urban systems, climate change impacts on health in underserved urban communities, and energy innovations for sustainable urban environments.
