Dr. Mark Workman is an expert in strategic policy making and whole system analysis, specializing in energy transitions, environmental and climate change, and conflict.
His work at UNU-INWEH champions open, participatory processes for navigating the net-zero transformation. He utilizes interdisciplinary methods and human-centered design to assess uncertainty, risk, and opportunities in future scenarios, with a particular focus on systemic risk, deep uncertainty, and exploratory approaches to net-zero transitions and decision-making.
Dr. Workman is an alumnus of the University of Southhampton and Imperial College London. His diverse background includes research in oceanography, military operational tours, leading high-risk expeditions, and managing a multi-million dollar business unit for a global medical services and security company in West Africa and Emerging Asia.
