Research Fellow, Geospatial Analytics for Disasters and Ecosystem

Mr. Kabir Uddin is a geospatial specialist with expertise in enterprise GIS, remote sensing, and supporting environmental management, climate resilience, and disaster risk reduction.

At UNU-INWEH, Mr. Uddin leverages Earth observation and advanced spatial analytics to support the development of policy-relevant knowledge products, geospatial information services, and decision-support systems that help governments and development partners manage environmental risks and build resilient communities.

Prior to joining UNU-INWEH, Mr. Uddin worked as a GIS and Remote Sensing Specialist at the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD), leading and supporting regional geospatial initiatives across the Hindu Kush Himalaya. Earlier, he served as a GIS Expert with Bangladesh’s Local Government Engineering Department (LGED).

Mr. Uddin holds an MSc in Geography and Environmental Studies from the University of Rajshahi, Bangladesh.
