Aria contributes to UNU-INWEH’s science communication and capacity-building efforts, drawing on his background in journalism, communication, and education.
As the institute’s Data Visualization and Communications Associate, he applies satellite imagery and storytelling to make environmental events understandable for everyone. He also supports e-learning programs on water and environmental management.
Aria holds a Master of Arts in Education from the University of Saskatchewan and a Master’s Degree in International Affairs and Diplomacy from the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR). His research interests are mainly in media studies, especially social network analysis, news analytics, and misinformation research.
Previously, he worked with international civil society organizations, focusing on open-source research, development communication, and media literacy.
