UNU-IAS Advisory Board Convenes for 2024 Meeting

The Board reviewed the achievements and future strategy of UNU-IAS through meetings with management, researchers, staff and students.

On 6–7 November 2024, the advisory Board of UNU-IAS convened in Tokyo for its annual meeting. The Board received briefings on the institute's activities and achievements in research and policy engagement, education and capacity development. Reviewing the draft UNU-IAS Strategic Plan 2025–2029 and its Implementation Plan, the Board provided expert guidance and identified key areas for development of partnerships and new projects.

A student seminar was held after the meeting, in which the Board received presentations from two UNU-IAS doctoral students — focusing on energy in Pakistan and climate change literacy in Malawi. Board members commended the students on the quality and policy relevance of their research and provided focused advice to each student.
