On 15 January 2016, UNU-IAS and Keio University will organize a symposium on "The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development: Transforming Japan and the World" at UNU Headquarters in Tokyo.

Over the past three years, the “Project on Sustainability Transformation beyond 2015” (S-11 project of the Environment Research and Technology Development Fund) has conducted comprehensive research on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and on how they should be implemented and reviewed, with various actors that need to be involved in the process — including government agencies, international organizations, the private sector and NGOs. This symposium will highlight and sum up the research outcomes of the project, and also discuss the transformation needed to realize the SDGs as well as to achieve a sustainable society.

This event will be held in English and Japanese with simultaneous interpretation provided.

This event is free and open to the public, but advanced registration is required.
