The 11th Japan Youth Environmental Activity Contest will be held on 31 January – 1 February 2026, with regional contests held in eight locations across Japan starting in November 2025. The contest aims to empower high school students by highlighting their student-led sustainability projects and fostering peer exchange to scale up their initiatives. Schools wishing to participate are invited to submit their presentations in Japanese through the contest website. The deadline for submissions is 28 October 2025 18:00 (JST).
This annual event is co-organized by UNU-IAS; the Ministry of the Environment, Japan (MOEJ); and the Environmental Restoration and Conservation Agency, Japan (ERCA).
