Yamikani Makwinja is a Doctoral Researcher in the Joint Ph.D. Programme in Integrated Management of Water, Soil, and Waste between Technische Universität Dresden and UNU-FLORES. 

He is working on the topic “Changing land cover patterns in Southern Africa: Drivers and Implications for Regional sustainable development”, where his research focuses on assessing drivers and implications of changing land cover patterns on sustainable development transformations in Southern Africa.

   Before joining UNU-FLORES, Yamikani worked as a Planning Officer and has more than ten years of experience in development planning and management within the fields of natural resources governance and livelihoods.
