"Girls' Digital Inclusion Projects Evaluation: What is Your Story?" Workshops

UNU Macau invites you to take part in the online workshop to learn more about girls' digital inclusion evaluation.

Time
- UTC

What are some of the things we say, think and do when it comes to the evaluation of girls’ digital inclusion programmes? How can we collectively improve our evaluation practice so it produces knowledge that could help to shape future digital inclusion strategies? Our UNU Macau research team examines these questions as part of ‘Girls’ Digital Inclusion: The Narratives of Evaluation’ project. We’re currently looking for project facilitators who directly work with girls in a digital inclusion context (e.g., running workshops on essential digital skills, coding, online safety)

We are keen to learn about your experiences and perceptions of evaluation. Your views on what works and what does not work in evaluation are invaluable when it comes to improving our understanding of evaluation practice. Therefore, we would like to invite you to take part in one of our online workshops called ‘Girls' digital inclusion projects evaluation: what is your story?’.

What is the purpose of this study?

In simple terms, the aim of this project is to learn more about girls' digital inclusion evaluation: what are some of the experiences of those doing evaluations? What are some of the challenges and opportunities? What is needed to make the evaluation process (and its outcome) more accessible and useful in our efforts to bridge the gender digital divide? We hope to be able to learn about your experience and to use it to co-create future practitioner-led recommendations for girls' digital inclusion project evaluation in 2022.

What will the workshops look like?

The workshops will take place online via Zoom and will last approximately 1 hour . The workshop will be led by Dr Alicja Pawluczuk, who will lead the session. You’ll be invited to share your views and experiences of projects’ evaluation. At the end of the workshop, Dr Alicja Pawluczuk will share some of our recent findings related to girls’ digital inclusion evaluation and our initial evaluation recommendations. There will also be time to ask questions as well as connect and exchange ideas with other participants.

What if I don’t feel confident to openly talk about my experiences of evaluation?

We understand that evaluation can be considered as a sensitive topic. If you don’t feel comfortable sharing your views openly during the workshop, you are welcome to switch off your camera and/or use a pseudonym instead of your name. In addition, you might want to use the chat option instead of speaking up during the workshop. You can choose to have all your details (e.g., your name, the name of your organisation) anonymised.

How can I register?

You can register for one of our workshops using this link. At this stage, we will only be collecting your basic contact information (e.g. your name, email address). Once we have your contact information, we will follow up with more detailed information about the workshop format. You are free to cancel your participation at any time.

You can choose one of the following sessions:

6th September 2021 at 6am(EDT) / 10 am (UTC) / 12 pm (CEST)

7th September 2021 at 9am(EDT) / 1pm (UTC) / 3pm (CEST)

8th September at 11am(EDT) / 3pm (UTC) / 5pm (CEST)

What if I still have questions about the workshop?

Please contact Dr Alicja Pawluczuk at pawluczuk@unu.edu
