The inaugural User Needs First International Conference brought together over 600 participants from 80 countries in Amsterdam, Netherlands, from 9 to 11 April. Organisers aimed to place real user needs at the heart of digital governance design, guiding discussions on service delivery, personalisation and life-event support.
Pre-Conference at The Hague
On 9 April, delegates convened at the Dutch Ministry of Interior & Kingdom Relations in The Hague. Sessions focused on digital transformation strategies, service design frameworks, life-event mapping and personalisation approaches in public services.
Keynote
On 10 April, Morten Meyerhoff, Principal Research Specialist at UNU-EGOV, delivered the conference keynote, “From standards to service: Designing digital government for real user needs”, drawing on findings from a recent usability study.
