On September 23rd, the United Nations University – Operating Unit on Policy-Driven Electronic Governance (UNU-EGOV) received António Ferrari, Communications Advisor for Portugal at the United Nations Regional Information Centre for Western Europe (UNRIC), for a visit to its facilities in Guimarães.
Besides meeting with UNU-EGOV Director Delfina Soares, Ferrari was given a tour of the Unit’s premises and was introduced to members of the team.
UNRIC and UNU-EGOV have maintained a close, long-standing cooperation for several years. As part of this partnership, UNU-EGOV serves as one of only two locations in Portugal dedicated to the storage and dissemination of educational materials related to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
During the visit, Ferrari expressed his appreciation for UNU-EGOV’s contribution to raising awareness of the 2030 Agenda and highlighted the value of the ongoing cooperation between the two entities. He also acknowledged the warm welcome and enthusiasm he received from the team.

The United Nations Regional Information Centre for Western Europe (UNRIC) opened in Brussels on 1 January 2004, replacing the United Nations Information Centres previously located in nine European capitals, following a decision of the UN General Assembly.
