UNU-EGOV at International CIO Summit 2024

At the CIO Summit 2024, UNU-EGOV proposed Hybrid Intelligence as a new paradigm for AI-human collaboration in digital governance leadership.

The College of Innovation at Thammasat University (CITU), in collaboration with the International Academy of CIO (IACIO), hosted the International CIO Summit 2024 under the theme AI Strategic Transformation: Principles and Practices for CIOs. Kim Young Sik and Saleem Zoughbi represented UNU-EGOV. 

Professor Kim presented the importance of international coordination in digital governance, highlighting UNU-EGOV’s active role in this domain. Dr. Zoughbi contributed to a forward-looking discussion on “AI versus Human Inherent Intelligence in Decision-Making”, questioning the transformative impact of AI on the CIO role. He introduced the concept of Hybrid Intelligence (HI), emphasizing the potential of human-AI interaction as the next evolution in decision-making frameworks.
