UNU-EGOV on Fintech and Digital Growth in Iran

Keynote at Iran’s Central Bank conference spotlighted fintech innovation and urged support for youth-led entrepreneurship in the digital economy.

On 25 November 2024, Saleem Zoughbi delivered a remote keynote address at the 11th Annual Conference on “Modern Banking and Smart Banking, Ecosystem Payment Systems,” hosted by the Digital Economy Committee of the Central Bank of Iran in Tehran. 

Representing UNU-EGOV, he spoke on The Role of Fintech in Facilitating Digital Economic Growth. His presentation provided a focused overview of emerging financial technologies and innovations in financial products and services, with an emphasis on personalized solutions, cryptocurrencies, and blockchain. He concluded by encouraging decision-makers to launch youth entrepreneurship programmes aimed at fostering the development of fintech-focused SMEs.
