On 4 March 2026, the Director of UNU-EGOV, Delfina Soares, participated in a collaborative workshop organized by the Agência para a Reforma Tecnológica do Estado (ARTE, I.P.) as part of the national prospective study “Portuguese Public Administration in the Age of Artificial Intelligence”.
The study, led by ARTE, aims to anticipate how Artificial Intelligence (AI) will reshape the structures, decision‑making processes, and accountability mechanisms of the Portuguese public sector by 2035.
The workshop, held at ARTE’s headquarters in Lisbon, brought together experts and institutional representatives to collectively identify critical uncertainties and contribute to the development of prospective scenarios for 2035.
The participants discussed emerging trends, weak signals, and potential disruptive factors expected to influence the digital transformation of public administration in the coming decade.
