Expert Roundtable: From Political Commitment to Politically-Driven Practice

This expert roundtable examined the translation of Security Council mandates into political strategies by peace operations.

This expert roundtable, designed in support of the Action for Peacekeeping Initiative, and with the generous support of the Government of The Netherlands, examined the translation of Security Council mandates into political strategies by peace operations.

The event explored the preliminary findings of an Action for Peacekeeping Initiative project, provoking a frank discussion of the challenges facing today's peace operations, and the "primacy of the political" in practice.

This event was hosted by United Nations University Centre for Policy Research and the Stimson Center.
