Jack Durrell is Head of Communications at United Nations University Centre for Policy Research.
At UNU-CPR his responsibilities cover every aspect of the Centre’s outreach and engagement activities, including the development of publications and knowledge products, media relations and the coordination and implementation of digital communication activities via the Centre’s website and social media platforms.
Jack is a member of the Centre’s senior management team and has played a key role in UNU-CPR’s recent growth, producing and disseminating major outputs, including the advisory report of the Secretary-General’s High-Level Advisory Board on Effective Multilateralism.
Prior to joining UNU-CPR, Jack was a Senior Communications Specialist at Scriptoria Development Solutions where he led the production of client communications strategies, working with leading research organizations (including CGIAR, GIZ and the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization) to understand their needs and priorities, explore relevant media ecosystems and identify target audiences.
Jack brings almost 20 years of experience providing strategic research and communications support to international development organizations and has lived and worked throughout Asia, the Middle East and Africa. He holds a Doctorate in Geography from Kings College London, which investigated transnational migration and the migration-development nexus.
