Next Course: “New knowledge on Dengue and Other Arboviruses: From Molecular Biology to Public Health”, September 2024

Apply for a scholarship to participate in the course coordinated by Dr. Rosa Pando at Instituto nacional de Salud Pública (México)

The course is offered with a transdisciplinary perspective, involving epidemiologists, virologists, biotechnologists, entomologists, ecologists, and public health specialists.
Topic areas:
I. Virology review. Arboviruses, Interaction virus-host vertebrate and insect, immune response.
II. Applied Infectious Disease Epidemiology (Transmission mechanisms, transmission rate, outbreak study)
III. Detection and discovery of arbovirus associated with emerging diseases.
(Pathogen detection and discovery)
IV. Vector biology and control (strategies by vectorial control, insecticides resistance)
V. Public health (Social determinants, Action plan, national and private surveillance systems)
VI. Prevention of arboviral diseases (Vaccine development technologies, vaccine efficacy)
 
The aim of this course is o build regional capacity in arboviral infectious diseases, to equip the health sector (private and public) and universities with the state of art in the investigations and the control measures of arbovirus. In this sense, our aim was to have a unique course comprised by health personnel, students, professors, and researchers to disseminate, share, and discuss scientific knowledge about molecular technologies that are commonly used or have the potential to be used in understanding arboviral diseases.
