Since its foundation in 2007, UNU-VIE has actively engaged in UN processes, advocating science-based policy decision-making in key international events and fora and supporting UN priorities through cooperation with the Global South. Acknowledging that collaboration and capacity development are central to fostering innovative solutions, UNU-VIE spearheads new initiatives and ideas that contribute to addressing UN priorities, setting agenda, positively impacting humanity, and ensuring that no one is left behind.
Frontier Research
Frontier research conducted by UNU-VIE reinforces existent UNU programming and supports the implementation of key UN priorities, spanning research foci such as the water-energy-food nexus, green innovation, digitalization/technology, and entrepreneurship.
Partnerships & Outreach
UNU-VIE fosters partnerships with UN agencies and the Global South. Dedicated to research and training, it contributes to capacity building and empowerment, with a particular focus on women, youth, and early career professionals, through different formats, such as targeted fellowships and online and blended learning/training activities and entrepreneurial education.
