On 7 December 2022, the UNU Institute for the Advanced Study of Sustainability (UNU-IAS) will co-organise “The Satoyama Initiative: A Decade of Working for Societies in Harmony with Nature” — a side event at the UN Biodiversity Conference (CBD COP15). The event will present the results of the first ten years of the International Partnership for the Satoyama Initiative (IPSI), a global effort to realise societies in harmony with nature through landscape approaches. To celebrate the first decade of the initiative, this event will bring together experts from the IPSI community to discuss successes to date and future plans.

Participation

The side event is open to attendees of CBD COP15. It will be held in Room 516DE (Contact Group 6).

Programme

Visit the UNU-IAS website for updated programme details as they become available.

Organisers

The event will be co-organised by UNU-IAS, the Ministry of the Environment, Japan (MOEJ), the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES), UNDP, the CBD Secretariat, and the International Partnership for the Satoyama Initiative (IPSI).
