Jointly with TU Dresden and RWTH Aachen Germany and the Indian Institute of Technology Madras IIT (Chennai, India) and the Asian Institute of Technology (Bangkok, Thailand), UNU-FLORES plan to establih a “Global Water and Climate Adaptation Centre” with a hub at IIT Madras and a satellite at AIT Bangkok.

The Centre will address the question of how society can adapt to the impact that climate change has on water resources. Core focus of the center is the joint supervision of students, including the creation of a Master’s program on “Water Security and Global Change” and partial scholarships for PhD students (research stays abroad). Under a joint governance structure, the project aims to:

 

Establishing a global hub for water security and climate adaptation;Educating responsible future environmental leaders;Enabling transfer through a new dialogue between science and global society.

 

This project is funded by German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).
