Meeting of Experts on Corporate Monitoring of large Food & Beverage Companies
This report documents a meeting that was convened by ATNi and UNU-IIGH to examine methods and approaches for monitoring the activities and the health, nutrition, social and economic impacts of the largest Food & Beverage (F&B) companies. This meeting was initiated to identify gaps in corporate monitoring and accountability and bring together individuals with varied expertise and perspectives to brainstorm potential solutions to fill those gaps, and come up with concrete solutions and actions all actors can take to try to fill these gaps. The meeting highlighted the importance of collaboration across organizations, with the aim of better understanding what data already exists and exploring how different actors in the field can contribute complementary data and expertise. At the same time the meeting highlighted time, budget and human resource constraints to effective coordination.
