Ctrl + Alt + Deceive? A Look At Artificial Intelligence-Enabled Mis/Disinformation In Philippine Political Affairs

Digital technology poses a series of new challenges for public administrations and political bodies. This Policy Brief explores three key aspects, from the local to the global level: the management of personal data, the influence of artificial intelligence (AI) on democratic processes, and the laws governing these practices. The first contribution focuses on the Swiss municipal level to propose ways of optimising the management of personal data. The second study analyses the use of AI in political manipulation in the Philippines, highlighting the need for appropriate regulation. Finally, the third study compares the European and US legislative approaches to the use of AI in public administrations, illustrating the diversity of institutional responses.
