UNU and ITTO Sign Memorandum of Understanding

The new agreement will support joint activities and knowledge exchange across research, education, events and advocacy.

On 17 April 2025, UNU and the International Tropical Timber Organization (ITTO) signed a new memorandum of understanding (MoU). The MoU outlines a framework of cooperation and knowledge exchange in fields relevant to the organizations' complementary research and capacity development.

UNU and ITTO will operationalize the agreement through a range of activities including: commissioning joint research; participating in inter-agency processes (such as the International Tropical Timber Council and the Conference of the Parties of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification); co-organizing meetings, workshops and seminars; and engaging in education, capacity-building and public awareness campaigns.
