ICEGOV 2021: Call for Papers

The 2021 International Conference on Theory and Practice of Electronic Governance invites submissions of original research papers.

The 14th edition of the International Conference on Theory and Practice of Electronic Governance (ICEGOV 2021) will focus on "Smart Digital Governance for Global Sustainability" in a challenging social, political, economic, and environmental world.

Jointly organised by the University of the Aegean, the Harokopio University of Athens, and the United Nations University (UNU-EGOV), ICEGOV 2021 is supported by the Hellenic Ministry of Digital Governance. This year, despite the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, plans are being made to hold the conference on 6-8 October 2021 in Athens (though it could to adapted to an online format depending on the pandemic’s evolution worldwide and particularly in Europe).

For over half a century, digital governance — the application of information and communication technologies in public administration and society — has enabled governments to change how they make decisions, engage with stakeholders, and operate, produce, and provide public services. The opportunities of digital governance have been emphasised by past and current crises as not only a way to manage pandemic, economic, and environmental emergencies and recovery, but also to address social and political challenges faced in a rapidly changing world.

The previous thirteen previous ICEGOV events have enabled more than 1,500 authors from more than 100 countries to reach national and global policy, industry, and research audiences.

ICEGOV 2021 invites submissions of original research papers (not published nor considered for publication or in review elsewhere) that contribute to the conference theme and any of its 13 submission tracks. Presentation time will be 15-20 minutes. Accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings on the condition that at least one author attends the conference to present the paper.

The paper submission deadline is 21 April 2021.

For links to information about paper submission, tracks, and other important deadlines, see the Call for Papers announcement on the UNU-EGOV website.
