Building on the TRANSFORM Programme training approach, the activity focused on revising and contextualizing key learning materials to better reflect regional priorities, emerging risks, and lessons learned from recent crises such as COVID-19. The project combined technical review, stakeholder consultation, and practical testing to update the Shock-Responsive Social Protection base document and training modules in both Arabic and English.
Through close collaboration with regional experts and partners, including World Food Programme, the initiative ensured that materials were contextually relevant, evidence-based, and adaptable for diverse country settings. Key outputs included revised training content, localized case studies, and a pilot delivery of the updated materials.
The activity ultimately supported policymakers, practitioners, and trainers in designing and implementing more resilient and inclusive social protection systems aligned with global frameworks such as the Sustainable Development Goals.
Target group
Mid- to senior-level professionals working in social protection and related sectors across the Arab States region. Participants included government officials from ministries responsible for social affairs, labour, and finance; practitioners from international organizations such as World Food Programme and UNICEF; as well as representatives from NGOs, research institutions, and development partners.
Timing and duration
The activity was conducted in a hybrid format, including an in-person training held in Amman, complemented by online sessions to facilitate broader regional participation.
