Márcia da Mota Darós is an Associate Research Fellow at Institute for Economic Research on Innovation and a dual-career PhD fellow at UNU-MERIT and Maastricht University.
Her thesis focused on measurement of management innovation in small and medium firms of the service sector in transition economies. Her main research interests cover innovation in services, management innovation, innovation in small and medium service firms, service and manufacturing interactions and local and regional development issues.
Mrs. Márcia Darós currently lives in London (UK) - since July 2011.
From 2007 to mid-2011 she lived in Brasília (Brazil), where she worked as advisor to the CEO of SEBRAE Nacional (Brazilian Institute to Support Micro and Small Enterprises). She has moved to Europe in 2001, where she lived in Brussels and Maastricht, until 2004 to join the Ph.D. Programme. From 1998 to 2001, she was the National Executive Coordinator of the National Confederation of Industry (CNI) in Brasília, providing national and international training for managers and CEO´s. From 1996 and 1998, she worked as a consultant at the Brazilian Institute for Quality and Productivity (IBQP), in Curitiba (Brazil), providing support to companies to improve their levels of productivity.
Her M.Sc. Degree (cum laude) is in Scientific and Technological Policy at UNICAMP (Universidade Estadual de Campinas), in São Paulo (Brazil).
Her teaching experience includes graduate level classes and MBA´s concerning innovation policies and management of innovation, in Brasília (Brazil).
