Amira Gamal El-Din is currently holding the position of Governance and Anti-Corruption Advisor at USAID/Economic Governance Activity in Egypt, where she is providing high-level technical assistance and support to the government counterparts. She is a Ph.D. fellow at Maastricht University with a focus on Governance and Policy Analysis.
Ms. Gamal El-Din obtained her Master Degree in Public Policy from the American University in Cairo. Throughout over fifteen years of professional experience, Ms. Gamal El-Din worked at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, which is one of the League of Arab States specialized organizations, the Ministry of Planning, and USAID funded projects.
Ms. Gamal El-Din has worked in supporting policy and institutional reform, coordinating development projects with regional and international organizations. In addition, she has experience in building and developing partnerships with various regional and international bodies with relation to sustainable development. Her areas of competence include research and policy analysis. She published many research papers and provided research coordination in different regional, continental, and international reports.
As a researcher, Ms. Gamal El-Din’s interests tend to be multidisciplinary, especially in areas pertaining to governance and institutions, local development, public sector reform, sustainable development, public leadership and communication, and public participation.
