UNU INRA hosts UGlobe team from Utrecht University

UNU INRA hosts UGlobe team from Utrecht University (Netherlands)for Erasmus Exchange Program.

UNU INRA hosted some members of  the UGlobe from Utrecht University (Netherlands), from 30 May-3rd June 2024 for an Erasmus Exchange Program. The purpose of the exchange program, was to further strengthen the organisations’ partnership around Just Transitions. The partnership meetings organised for the visiting team included, visits to University of Ghana’s Vice Chancellor’s  office, Law, Economics Departments, LEAD for Ghana, a not-for-profit leadership development and network social enterprise, domiciled in Accra. 

Field visits also included visits to green entrepreneurs including SESA, an organisation that develops recycling programs for plastics, aluminium, and papers and cardboards and Ebapreneur Solutions, who are into production of briquettes, solar dryers and other green innovations. Another key visit was to the Accra Compost and Recycling Plant (ACARP), the first state-of the art waste sorting and composting facility in West Africa. 

These field visits were to increase awareness of grassroots initiatives that are contributing to curb Ghana’s environment, climate and natural resource management initiatives.
