The theme this year was on "Green Wins: Fostering a better dialogue towards sustainable, inclusive natural resource governance.'

Kwapong Lecture is part of a series of events that place natural resources at the centre of Africa's sustainable and inclusive development as a key enabler of social transformation and shared prosperity.

This lecture is in honour the late Professor Alexander Adum Kwapong, the first Ghanaian Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ghana and the first African Vice-Rector of the United Nations University. Previous Kwapong lectures speakers’ include: Professor Marwala, Rector of the United Nations University, Dr. Frannie Leautier, former Vice President of the African Development Bank, Dr. Youba Sokona, former Vice-Chair of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and current UNU INRA board member, Professor Christopher Gordon, University of Ghana.
