This session marks the launch of a working paper series as part of ongoing efforts to catalyze and sustain gender-responsive change within health systems and sectors, addressing the urgent need for solutions amidst global challenges to gender equality and health equity. The webinar will provide a platform to engage with key themes and insights from the series, bringing together researchers, policymakers, and advocates to drive meaningful dialogue and action. Specifically, the session aims to:

  1. Discuss Key Findings and Insights – Highlight the purpose, scope, and contributions of the series, emphasizing its role in advancing gender equality in health systems. Present key themes and lessons from the working paper series, including effective gender-responsive health policies, cross-sector approaches, and strategies for transformative change.

  2. Amplify Voices from the Global South – Showcase perspectives from researchers, policymakers, and activists from the Global South to broaden understandings of expertise and evidence in shaping health policy.

  3. Interrogate Power and Knowledge Production in Health Systems – Critically examine how dominant paradigms shape evidence, policy, and practice in health systems, and explore feminist, decolonial, and intersectional approaches to reimagining knowledge and decision-making.

  4. Mobilize Action for Gender-Responsive Health Systems – Identify practical steps for researchers, policymakers, and practitioners to strengthen health systems that promote both gender equality and health equity.
