Dr. Suwarna Ramanathan is a Research Intern at UNU-IIGH. She is an Australian trained physician with a keen interest in health governance.
Dr Ramanathan is currently working on the digital health governance work package at UNU-IIGH. Prior to this, she served as a medical doctor in rural and regional parts of Australia, gaining hands-on experience within the field of psychiatry, surgery and forensic pathology. She holds a Doctor in Medicine (MD) and a Bachelor’s in Medical Science (BMed) from UNSW, Australia. She has been a key advocate for mental health and wellbeing and has contributed to various research projects across multiple disciplines.
Dr Ramanathan is particularly interested in mental health, gender equity and access to healthcare systems.
