Tual Sawn Khai is a PhD Fellow at the United Nations University International Institute for Global Health (UNU-IIGH), where he conducts a Rapid Assessment of Climate Migration and Health in the Asia-Pacific Region project.

This project aims to identify key institutions and stakeholders, including public sector entities, CSOs, and NGOs, and their roles in climate mobility policies and operations in the region. Additionally, the project evaluates programs and initiatives on health and climate mobility in the region, highlighting successful stories and lessons learned, as well as the policy environment, including policies, laws, treaties, and prioritization related to climate and health, and the intersection of migration.

Dr Tual's work focuses on climate change and social determinants of health in Southeast Asia, with a particular emphasis on marginalized populations such as migrant workers, refugees, informal workers, and displaced persons. He has also been actively engaged in human rights and social development efforts in Myanmar for over five years, working with both governmental and non-governmental organizations.
