Arthur Wyns is a Visiting Fellow at UNU-IIGH. Arthur is a globally recognised expert on climate and health policy and governance. He has held advisory roles for national governments, UN agencies and academic institutions.
Arthur currently is an Assistant Director at the Australian Centre for Disease Control (Australian CDC), where he coordinates the Australian Government's health activities related to the COP31 UN climate conference. His previously held roles include COP28 senior health advisor to the Government of the United Arab Emirates, and climate change advisor to the World Health Organization (WHO). He has authored more than ten United Nations reports on climate change and human health, and is the policy editor of the Journal of Climate and Health. In 2024, he founded the diplomatic initiative 'Friends of Climate and Health', which fosters inter-governmental collaboration on climate and health.
