UNU-IAS will organize a Reporting Session for its Grant for Global Sustainability (GGS) programme.

In 2015, UNU-IAS launched GGS, an initiative supporting research contributing to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Through the programme, Hiroshima University implemented a project entitled “Development of an Inclusive Education System Model for Learning Improvement in Developing Countries” and Kyoto University a project entitled “Enhancement of Urban Disaster Resilience through Activities of Local Participatory Platform”. This meeting will allow them to present their final findings from the three-year projects.

Also, for the second term of GGS, in 2017, Nagoya University started implementing a project entitled “Knowledge and Skills which Lead to Decent Work: The Development of a Skills Assessment Module for TVET Graduates and Curriculum Evaluation in Developing Countries”. Kyoto University launched their project “Incorporation of Biodiversity Indicators into Ecosystem-Service Forest Certification towards Achieving Synergy between Biodiversity Conservation and Sustainable Forest Use” and Ibaraki University “Strategies for Adaptation to Sea Level Rise in Urban Atolls through Conservation and Rehabilitation of Natural Processes of Island Formation”. The progress on their activities will be presented.

The event will be held in Japanese ONLY.
