On 28–30 August 2024, UNU-IAS will co-organize the Regional Centres of Expertise (RCE) on Education for Sustainable Development 14th African RCE Regional Meeting. It will be hosted by RCE North Rift and the University of Eldoret in collaboration with the National Environment Management Authority of Kenya (NEMA) and the Eldoret National Polytechnic. The event will be held in a hybrid format under the theme Role of RCE in Climate Action, Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

The meeting aims to mobilize various stakeholders, including local communities, academic institutions and governments, to engage actively in ecosystem restoration, waste management, sustainable livelihoods and the adoption of renewable energy and green financing to address climate change. It will also empower youth and women in mainstreaming ESD and SDGs in the African region, highlighting the importance of collaborative efforts of all African RCEs.

Participation

The meeting will be held on the main campus of the University of Eldoret and online. To participate, please register by 20 August 2024 (23:59 Eastern Africa Time).
