Robert Lindner joined UNU-IAS as a Research Associate in the Sustainability Transformation beyond 2015 project in August 2014. He focuses his research and teaching on questions of global environmental governance in and outside the UN system, in particular on the political and socio-cultural aspects influencing the diffusion of sustainable energy technologies and practices. Robert is a German national and earned his Master degree in Political Science and Sociology at the Dresden University of Technology, Germany. Prior to joining IAS, he worked on his PhD in Political Science at the University of Duisburg-Essen in Germany and was associated as JSPS Fellow with the Graduate School of Environmental Studies at Nagoya University during his field research in Japan. His dissertation examined the changing energy discourses and practices after the Fukushima nuclear disaster. Since 2012 Robert has also been engaged as a Junior Research Fellow at the Institute for Advanced Study in the Humanities in Essen, Germany.
