Ambiyah Abdullah first joined UNU-IAS in November 2015 as a JSPS-UNU Postdoctoral Fellow. In her current capacity, she continues to work as a researcher on the Low Carbon Technology Transfer (LCT) project. Her main research interest is global value chains analysis of low carbon technologies diffusion from OECD countries to ASEAN. She has research experience using macroeconomic models, such as the Input-output model. She was awarded a PhD degree from Nagoya University, Japan in March 2012. Her dissertation focused on the economic and environmental analysis of palm oil expansion in Indonesia, in which she used the export demand approach and EIRSAM (environmentally-extended Inter-Regional Social Accounting Matrix) Model. After graduation, she worked as a researcher at the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES) and Tokyo Institute of Technology in Japan.
