Mohammed M. Alokshiya is a sustainability and humanitarian logistics professional serving with the World Food Programme in Gaza and an Associate Expert affiliated with UNU-FLORES. His work integrates sustainable construction, life cycle assessment, and infrastructure resilience within the Resource Nexus framework.
Mohammed M. Alokshiya is a sustainability researcher and humanitarian logistics professional with extensive field experience in fragile and conflict-affected contexts. He currently serves with the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) in Gaza, where he leads and coordinates fleet and transport operations under complex emergency conditions, contributing to the delivery of life-saving assistance.
Academically, Mohammed specializes in sustainable construction materials, life cycle assessment (LCA), and resource efficiency in the built environment. His research interests focus on integrating sustainability assessment methods into construction systems, particularly in the context of reinforced concrete, additive manufacturing, and circular economy approaches in the building sector.
He holds a Master’s degree in Urban Management and Development from Erasmus University Rotterdam, with a focus on climate resilience and sustainable urban systems. He also holds a a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from the Islamic University of Gaza, in addition to a diploma in business administration. His interdisciplinary background connects humanitarian logistics, infrastructure resilience, and environmental sustainability.
As an Associate Expert affiliated with UNU-FLORES, Mohammed contributes to the Research and Innovation Development as well as Outreach, Advocacy and Impact pillars. His work supports collaborative research publication and dissemination under the Resource Nexus framework, addressing the interconnections between material resources, infrastructure systems, and sustainability transitions, particularly in developing and crisis-affected regions.
