UNU-EGOV Engages with the Diplomatic Community at the Portuguese Presidency’s New Year Greetings Ceremony

UNU-EGOV joined Portugal’s New Year Diplomatic Greetings, with Director Delfina Soares engaging the President on global digital governance cooperation

On January 20, UNU-EGOV participated in the New Year Diplomatic Greetings Ceremony hosted by His Excellency Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, President of Portugal, at the Palácio Nacional da Ajuda in Lisbon. Represented by its Director, Professor Delfina Soares, UNU-EGOV joined diplomats and international representatives in this prestigious gathering, reinforcing its commitment to multilateral dialogue and global digital governance.

Portugal continues to be an important actor in global governance and multilateral cooperation, leading discussions on digital rights, emerging technologies, and ethical AI. The New Year Diplomatic Greetings Ceremony reaffirmed the country’s role as a hub for policy dialogue, with UNU-EGOV’s presence reinforcing its active engagement in shaping global governance priorities.

As we advance into 2025, we remain dedicated to foster knowledge-sharing and capacity-building in digital governance.
