The Webinar #2 “Digital Identity and Public Services for the Population: Challenges and Opportunities in the PALOP Countries” aims to foster a dialogue between PALOP representatives and experts on the role of digital identity as a fundamental infrastructure enabling population access to digital public services.
As part of the initiative "Digital Governance Dialogues - Capacity Development and Cooperation in Digital Governance Capacities in the PALOP", the session will also address opportunities and challenges in implementing digital identity systems that enhance access, efficiency, and integration across public services, while respecting rights such as privacy and data protection and ensuring security.
By doing so, the webinar seeks to contribute to reflections that support inclusive and secure digital identity policies and practices in the PALOP context, aligned with both local needs and global best practices.
The event is aimed at government representatives and policymakers from the PALOP countries, as well as international and regional organizations. It also brings together academia, research centers, digital governance specialists, civil society, and organizations working in the fields of technology and the public sector.
Organized by Cetic.br | NIC.br (the Regional Center for Studies on the Development of the Information Society, part of the Brazilian Network Information Center) and the UNU-EGOV (United Nations University – Operating Unit on Electronic Governance), the webinar will be held in Portuguese and streamed on the NIC.br's YouTube channel.
