Miriam Yousaf is a Global Research Fellow at UNU-CPR contributing to the Conflict Prevention and Sustaining Peace Pillar.

Yousaf is a Master's of International Affairs candidate at Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA), where she focuses on Economic Development, Human Rights and Humanitarian Policy, and International Conflict Resolution.

She has previously worked with the UNDP Regional Bureau for Arab States in Jordan, contributing to the development of the regional climate finance and climate security portfolio. As a graduate consultant in the Dominican Republic, she supported IFAD’s 2027–2037 strategic plan by producing a Social, Environmental and Climate Assessment Procedures (SECAP) report. Her professional background also includes work in prison education, environmental justice policy, and community health advocacy.

Yousaf holds a Bachelor of Arts in Global Studies from the University of Oregon’s Clark Honors College, with minors in Global Health, Environmental Studies, and Spanish. Her research interests include postcolonial studies, climate and conflict-driven displacement, conflict resolution, and peacebuilding.
