Jeewon Park is a Visiting Fellow at the United Nations University Centre for Policy Research.

Jeewon Park is a diplomat and practitioner whose research focuses on improving the effectiveness and impact of the UN’s peacebuilding support, with a particular emphasis on the Peacebuilding Commission’s (PBC) advisory role, UN system-wide coherence, and the institutional knowledge of the PBC.

She recently served at the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Korea to the United Nations, where she was responsible for the peacebuilding and conflict prevention.

Her previous experience also includes service at the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Afghanistan, where she managed multilateral humanitarian assistance and development cooperation programs in Afghanistan.

She holds a Master of Arts in Political Science from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics from Seoul National University.

Research interests

Security Council-PBC cooperation, Conflict Prevention, System-wide Coherence, and UN-International Financial Institution (IFI) partnerships.
