Calder Tsuyuki-Tomlinson

Calder Tsuyuki-Tomlinson is a Fellow (Non-Resident) in Global Economic Governance at UNU-CPR.

Calder Tsuyuki-Tomlinson is a research-practitioner working at the intersections of global economic, climate and biodiversity governance. He focuses on efforts for reform and innovation of global governance architectures which aim to address holistic drivers of social, ecological and economic shortfalls.

His work with UNU-CPR examines implementation of the 2024 UN Pact for the Future, with particular attention towards the Beyond GDP agenda. This builds on his previous work supporting the translation of the UN Secretary General’s High Level Advisory Board on Effective Multilateralism (HLAB) recommendations into global governance reform efforts ahead of the Summit of the Future.

He is currently a Senior Advisor with Ambition Loop, a Chile-based NGO. He was previously Director of the Synergies Collaboration Platform secretariat, and served in roles supporting governance innovation within the United Arab Emirates Presidency of COP28, the UN Climate Change and UN Biodiversity secretariats, and the support team of the Climate High Level Champions. He previously managed the Future of Climate Cooperation think tank based out of the University of Oxford, and served as a Research Officer in Global Economic Governance at the Blavatnik School of Government.

He holds an MSc in Nature, Society and Environmental Governance from the University of Oxford, and a BA in International Relations from the University of British Columbia.
