Alona Savishchenko is a Junior Fellow at UNU-CPR supporting the uptake and further development of the recommendations of the High-Level Advisory Board on Effective Multilateralism (HLAB). 

Alona recently completed her master’s degree in EU International Relations and Diplomacy Studies with a focus on international sanctions, specifically European Union sanctions against Russia, at the College of Europe in Bruges. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and World Politics from the Higher School of Economics.

Prior to joining UNU-CPR, Alona was a Research Trainee at the Center for Comparative Governance Studies where she contributed to research on the interaction between political power and society during the response to the Covid pandemic. She also served as Academic Assistant on a course that focused on ethnography and qualitative research.
