Announcement

Next Course: “Writing of Proposal for Research Grants: Theory into Practice”, November & December 2023

We are glad to announce the course “Writing of Proposal for Research Grants: Theory into Practice”.

This course is coordinated by Dr. Julian Dib, PROIMI-CONICET and Universidad Nacional de Tucumán, Argentina, from 27 November to 1 December 2023.

Seven speakers from different Universities and Institutions —Argentina, Germany, Mexico, Norway and Uruguay — will join the line-up of this course:

  • Dr. Juan David Guzmán Vásquez, Fraunhofer Institute Germany.
  • Dr. Reinhard Klein-Arendt, proWiss Germany.
  • Prof. Natalia Venturini, University of the Republic Uruguay.
  • Prof. Lizette Jacinto, Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla, Mexico.
  • Prof. Lucas Bietti, Norwegian University of Science and Technology Norway.
  • Dr. Máximo Mena, National University of Tucuman Argentina.
  • M.A. Daniela Simut, University of Cologne, Germany.

The course includes the following topics:

The proposal: important principles. The knowledge gap and unique selling point. Sections of a proposal: Title. Abstract (Abstract subsections). Objectives: main objective and specific objectives and State of the art. The work plan. Developing the Budget. Importance of the appendices in the proposals and their correct development. Reviewer-oriented writing. Criteria of peer reviewing. Reviewing of proposals. Implementation of improvements in the proposal. International cooperation. International Funding Agencies: an overview. Successful stories from proposal writing. Practical exercises.

One of the main objectives of the proposed course is to transfer knowledge and key strategies for developing research proposals that comply with the guidelines and requirements of national and international funding agencies for research projects. Therefore, it will be essential to ensure that participants, beyond their disciplinary differences, can assess the importance of group work and the benefits of receiving assessments from specialists with different backgrounds and career paths. Thus, the most important achievement of this course will be that each participant can independently write, edit and present their research projects. In addition, this course aims to encourage the local scientific community to apply for funding locally and internationally, showing the different possibilities of the existing international funding agencies.

The open call is open to anyone interested.

Applicants must apply through the following link.

Deadline:  28 September 2023
