Dr. Flor Pujol
Pujol received a Licenciate degree in Biology in the Universidad Simón Bolívar and a Masters and Doctorate in Biology at the Instituto Venezolano de Investigaciones Científicas (IVIC). She presently serves as Full Professor at IVIC, Head of the Laboratory of Molecular Virology, with 123 publications (3 thesis, 110 articles in journals and 10 articles/chapters in books).
Her main research interest is the molecular biology of hepatitis viruses and of HIV. Her research includes the development and evaluation of molecular (PCR) for the diagnosis of these viruses. Her particular field of research is the molecular evolution of the hepatitis viruses, HIV, and others like dengue virus.
